Name correction assistance

Name corrections

The name on a ticket must match the traveller's ID. If a letter is wrong, tell us before the travel date, not at the airport.

For bookings made through Rizwiz Enterprise. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.

Airlines generally allow minor corrections, such as a transposed or missing letter, or a first and last name entered the wrong way round. Changing a ticket to a different person is almost never allowed; that usually means cancelling under the fare rules and booking again.

For bookings made through Rizwiz Enterprise, we ask the airline whether the correction is permitted and what it costs. Some airlines make small corrections without charge; others require the ticket to be reissued with a fee or a fare difference. We send the result as a written quote, including our service fee, and act only on approval.

To avoid this altogether, we ask for names exactly as printed on each traveller's passport or government ID when you first send a travel request, and we read them back in the quote.

How it works

  1. Report the error

Send the booking reference, the name as ticketed and the name as it appears on the ID.

  2. Share the ID page

A copy of the relevant ID page so the airline can check the correction.

  3. Airline decision and quote

We confirm whether the airline allows it and send the cost in writing.

  4. Corrected ticket

After approval and payment, the corrected ticket or itinerary is sent to you.

Questions about this service

My surname and first name were swapped. Is that fixable?

Usually yes, as airlines often treat this as a minor correction. We confirm with the airline for your specific ticket before anything is charged.

Can I transfer my ticket to a colleague who is going instead?

Generally no. Airline tickets are not transferable. The usual route is to cancel under the fare rules and book a new ticket for your colleague.

The name is missing a middle name. Do I need to fix it?

Often not, since many airlines accept a ticket without the middle name. Requirements differ by airline and destination, so we check before advising.

Have a trip to arrange?

Send the travel request with traveller names, dates and the approver's details. Our desk works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and replies with a written quote.
